Welcome to my second blog. I am not use to blogging, so these posts are rolling around fast. I hope last week you had a chance to see a play. Sunday, my kids and I were entertained by the Sacred Heart Catholic School drama club. Directed by Rialto Arts Council President Sarah Croswell and Morrilton’s favorite drama teacher Diana Denton, they did a variation play Alice @ Wonderland. It was an updated version for this millennium, including cell phone and Club trance music, and I thought it was very cute. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The costumes were very colorful, and the set was fantastic. Due to the fact that these are school kids, I will leave out names, but the Queen of Hearts amused me. Also, I’ve seen Alice before in other plays, and she always impresses me. The whole cast was a delight, and it was well worth the $5 admission price.
This weekend there are 5 plays available: A Streetcar Named Desire @ Center On The Square, 2 Across @ The Pocket Community Theatre-Hot Springs, Driving Miss Daisy @ The Weekend Theater, Other Desert Cities @ Arkansas Public Theatre At The Victory, and Crimes Of The Heart @ Fort Smith Little Theater. Please go out and enjoy one of these great productions. To find out more about these productions, click on the individual sites for more information. And as always, if I have missed your theatre, please let me know.
